After nine months at Western Spirit: Scottsdale’s Museum of the West, two PIXoils™ digital canvas artworks were unveiled at the C.M. Russell Museum in Great Falls, Montana. Fort Mountain features a monumental Montana landscape going through four seasons of change, and Spirit Catcher captures the imposing portraiture of many Native Americans of the late 1800s-1910s with expressive color and enrichment.
From October 2024 to March 2025, they will be featured as a part of the retrospective Inner Light: The Art of Tom Gilleon.
Patrons and friends of the museum were treated to a special preview evening to enjoy the retrospective before it opened to the general public. This museum brought the digital artworks close to the land that inspired them, and the Western Spirit that is still alive today. The real Fort Mountain was only a few miles away, under an autumn moon.
PIXoils™ digital canvas artworks are a form of pioneering: embracing the heart of the American West, reaching beyond known realms and exploring, adventuring, and innovating. Don’t Fence Me In.
